Frequently asked questions

Is Menâr free?

Yes. No account is needed, and there are no ads or in-app purchases.

How can I test it on Android?

The Android version is in closed testing. To join: (1) join the test group with your Google account, (2) a few minutes later open the test link and tap “Become a tester”, (3) install the app from the Play Store.

Play Store shows “Item not found”. What should I do?

This usually has one of two causes. (1) The Google account you used on the test link must be the same as the account in the Play Store app on your device; if they differ, the Play Store cannot find the app. (2) After tapping “Become a tester”, it can take a few hours, as Google says, for the app to appear in the Play Store. Wait a little and search for “Menâr” in the Play Store. If it still does not work, contact us with the Gmail address you used for testing and we will check that it is in the group.

How are prayer times calculated?

From your location and the calculation method you choose. For Czechia the 12°/12° method is calculated on your device; other methods use the AlAdhan calculation service. Different methods can differ by a few minutes.

Why does it ask for location and microphone access?

Location is used to calculate prayer times and the qibla. The microphone is used only for the recitation practice you start yourself. Location, microphone and notification permissions are all optional.

Where does my data go?

There are no accounts, so no profile is kept about you. Details are in the privacy policy.
